I recently (on one of the original Spring Days), went to West Beach with my 4 year old daughter. She LOVED running up the stairs to see how quickly she could get to the top. The views were just stunning all around too. It was a peaceful quick hike in the dunes that lead us directly to the shores of Lake Michigan where there are the perfect skipping rocks sitting right along the shoreline. I taught her how to skip them (kind-of) and we walked looking for drift wood. I explained to her things like where we could see the City of Chicago and how big the lake is. She loved every minute of it…. and so did I. It was a quick and pretty easy hike (lots of stairs) for young and old alike.
